This is my first Blog Tour ever and I’m so excited to share my makes! When Crystal asked me to be a part of this fall blog tour, I wasn’t sure what to say but I was so proud of myself for having been chosen that I couldn’t say no. And, honestly, I can use any excuse for sewing Itch to Stitch patterns, don’t you? Kennis is a wonderful pattern designer, and her patterns always go together easily and have beautiful touches and finishing techniques. If you scroll down you’ll see all the things that I’m happy to share.

Today I’m sharing a perfect couple. A comfortable outfit for everyday looks, that I would wear for work or a night out. This perfect couple is
The Liana Jeans and Nottingham top.
The Liana Jeans
It was long time that I wanted to try another jeans pattern and Liana had been in my to-do-list for a while. I’ve got many many Itch to Stitch patterns but not jeans, so when I checked ITS webpage I went through this pattern very quick.
When I first started looking for fabric and according thread I realized that there is a Liana Sewalong on Itch to Stitch site. Lucky me! This were going to be my second jeans and third zipper fly, so mostly I could say that I’m not an expert! If you are like me, jump in the deep end and you’ll see that if you follow Kennis’ brilliant instructions or Liana‘s sewalong you’ll be a winner.
I wasn’t sure of what size was good for me. I always try size 10 with Itch to Stitch patterns, but the Liana Stretch Jeans are designed to be very fitted over the body. They are designed to be sewn with bottom-weight woven fabric with 20%-25% stretch like denim, corduroy or twill fabric. I don’t like very fitted jeans but my experience on this kind of garments is that they become looser as time goes by.
My hip measurements put me in a size 8, but my waist put me in a size 12. I didn’t want to blend between sizes and sewed size 10. To be honest, this are the best fitted jeans I ever had, but next time I’ll use a size 12 for the waist. Sewist is instructed to sew a tape inside the waistband in order to avoid it to get looser which is ideal for jeans behaviour but then you need to sew the correct size for the waist.
I used blue jeans fabric with 20% stretch that I bought in “Mercat Els encants” in Barcelona and I used a stitch length of 3.5 when I topstitched.
This jeans are really comfy even though I had the waist size lapsus, and I can wear to work or a night out. I’m wearing them at home, paired with the Lago Tank (free pattern), just reading a book during a easy sunday morning in September.
Now it’s time for good news! The Liana Jeans are 25% off today because during this year blog tour, Kennis is featuring a daily sale.
The Nottingham top
Now it’s time to talk about the top I used to pair with the Liana Jeans. I was sure that those jeans could match any top and I have lots of basic t-shirts like Uvita (free pattern) but I had bought Nottingham top early this year and I wanted to try it.
The Nottingham Top is a relaxed fit knit t-shirt style with an off center front twist. I feel that it is a comfy but also an elegant top to wear for a dinner party or as work-wear, so it is more wearable than just a regular t-shirt. I love that this pattern is so versatile for so many lifestyles!
I sewed size 10 as my bust, hips and waist put me in this size and I used a soft, drapey, stretchy cotton-lycra fabric with 75% 4-way stretch that I bought in Telaria costura. Maybe it may look that this top is a bit complicated because of the twist knot but really it is very easy to make, as easy as a basic t-shirt.
This pattern includes three sleeves options but my favourite one is the butterfly one. I must say that I don’t have any other top with this kind of sleeves and I don’t know why?! They are so lovely that I want to wear the Nottingham top all the time! I’m kind of obsessed about these sleeves because my arms are a bit fat and flaccid compared to my wide shoulders and I usually have problems with RTW tops. I like tanks but I prefer to hide them under a flattering sleeve like the butterfly option, you know what I mean? The pattern also has the option of a long or elbow sleeve if you don’t want to make the butterfly one.
